The pro shop is open every day except Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years. The golf season is considered to be between March 1 and October 31. Pro Shop hours during that period are from 7:00 am to dark. During the months of November through February, the Pro Shop hours are from 8:00 am to dark (weather permitting). The course could be closed if the forecasted temperature will be below 35 degrees or if snow is covering the golf course.
Our snack bar supports luncheons, dinners, parties, or special golf events. Arrangements can be made by calling the Director of Golf at (816) 781-6522. Tee time protocols have been revised for the golf season. We feel these changes will best serve the majority
of the members, both men and women. Each
member will now be allowed to make tee times a full seven (7) days in advance, beginning
at 7:00 am each morning. For Example, Monday
morning you may call or come into the Pro Shop and reserve a tee time through the
following Monday. Tuesday morning you may
call or come into the Pro Shop and reserve a tee time through the following Tuesday. This procedure will be followed for each day of
the week. An amendment to this procedure will be as follows. Weekends and Holidays only, any member who has a tee time reserved between 6:00 and 7:00 am and is present to play may reserve a tee time for the following Weekend or Holiday. The tee sheet will open to all other members by walk-on or phone call beginning at 7:00 am. In addition, prior to the 2003 golf season, members were allowed to make two (2) tee reservations per visit or phone call. Each member will now be allowed only one (1) tee reservation per visit or phone call. Non-members can reserve one tee time on weekends and holidays, and may not call before Wednesday preceding the desired weekend of play.
PRO SHOP RATES
NOTE: Green fees are included in member dues. On Monday through Friday after 1:00 pm, green fees are discounted $3.00 for non-members. This does not apply to weekends or holidays. Monday through Friday the twilight fee is $15.00 after 5:00 pm.
DAILY RANGE FEES
NOTE: The practice range and chipping green are closed each Monday until noon and 30 minutes before dark for maintenance and cleanup. A MESSAGE FROM THE PRO SHOP G.H.I.N. dues to manage your USGA handicaps at Claycrest are $30.00 for men and $27.00 for ladies this year. If you are already in the GHIN handicap system at another club, we need your handicap card in order to make the transfer. Failure to turn in your scorecards can cause handicap privileges to be withdrawn. You can play with any equipment you want, and we will post your score for handicap purposes. New Discount Cart Pass Club
NOTE: You can get an unlimited cart usage if you are 60 years of age or older for $1,500 annually. If you are 59 years of age or younger, you can get unlimited cart usage for $1800.00 annually. Family cart memberships for unlimited usage for two riders are $2400 annually and $2700 annually for three to four riders. All cart usage memberships must be pre-paid in advance. Please pay special attention to the events schedule on this website. Sometimes changes can occur between updates, so please call the Pro Shop if you have any questions about available tee times or upcoming events. New Pro Shop Inventory A new inventory will begin to arrive at the Pro Shop as we open the 2009 season. As always, we will have a full line of both men and women's golf shoes and accessories. You will also notice other than putters and some wedges, there will be no new sets of clubs in our inventory. This is because almost all customers are choosing to be fitted for their personal golf equipment. In most cases, it only takes 8 to 10 days to receive a new club order after you are fitted. With golf superstores who have mega-huge inventories, it is hard for Claycrest to accommodate the one stop shopper. However, if you can wait a few days, we will make sure you get the best price available. Please support your club and Pro Shop whenever possible. You won't be sorry. Tee Time System and Reservation Reminders Claycrest Golf Club offers an Internet based tee time reservation system. This is an improvement over the manual paper based process of the past. Please do not panic because it does not change the way you make tee times. It only changes this if you want it to. If you are more comfortable calling by phone, or stopping by the Pro Shop after a round, you can still do that. However, you will not be able to take advantage of the 24 hour online sign-up availability using the computer. The rules for making tee times remain the same. Spring Membership Drive The annual spring membership drive will be getting underway March 1, 2009 through May 31, 2009. Make sure you tell your friends and family there is no better time to join Claycrest. The initiation fee has been reduced to $100.00, and the monthly dues are $90.00 plus tax for a single member and $125.00 plus tax for a family membership. Remember, lockers are available along with discounts for practice balls and carts for those who become members. We are continuously striving to improve the golf club and at the same time keep it the most affordable in Kansas City! Men's Association The Claycrest Men's association has a number of special activities and events for 2009. Men's association dues for 2009 are $26.50.
